MAKING TIME FOR THE MIND

Be Calm, Be Happy is a residential wellness retreat in Worcestershire that teaches the art of mindfulness meditation. The three-day program, spent in the idyllic grounds of Holland House, is inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh; finding a middle ground between working life and inner happiness.

Practitioners at the sanctuary believe mental well-being can be improved by recognising our positive reactions to challenging situations. The teachings aim to help participants control levels of stress and self-doubt.

Meditation educator Helene Knutsen believes mindfulness is a tool that should be integrated into our “daily hustle and bustle” to release anxiety. She says: “If you’re able to take a break and go on a retreat you could benefit from a renewed sense of clarity, reach insight into your thought systems, feel less stressed and be more optimistic towards life. The best thing about mindfulness as a practice is to achieve and maintain a positive mental attitude.”

If your restless mind is in need of attention, this retreat could be the perfect opportunity to unwind and reflect.

The Be Calm, Be Happy event begins on the 7th of March. Head to plumvillage.org for more information.
